Business and Corporate Law 

Mr. Hales acts as counsel to businesses and nonprofit organizations on a variety of legal matters. Wills, Trusts and Estates 

Mr. Hales helps individuals, families and their financial advisors create estate plans that will protect their loved ones and ensure that their assets are preserved to be used as they intend. For some, this may mean the drafting of a simple will, durable power of attorney, durable health care power of attorney and living will  (advanced directive).  He also drafts more complicated trusts including revocable (inter vivos) trusts, credit shelter (AB) trusts (see.pdf article on left), Grantor Retained Annuity Trusts (GRAT), Charitable Income Trusts including Charitable Remainder Unitrusts (CRUT) and Charitable Remainder Annuity Trusts (CRAT), irrevocable life insurance trusts, supplemental needs trusts also known as special needs trusts or family limited partnerships and limited liability companies.
